I don't know why people use 15W-40 in gas engines. It is a diesel oil. I used it in my 79 Formula because it was free from where I worked. We had to carry a couple of gallons of it in the trucks we drove. It ruined the engine.
And you don't see truckers put 10W-40 weight oil in their trucks. It would ruin a diesel engine.
