I have the same problem, however it is intermittent under certain conditions. Once I put a fuel pressure gauge on it I found it is a fuel delivery problem. Pressure will go down to zero, and car will nose down, rpm drops. In low gear it will rpm up to when I shift it, even close to 6k. As long as there is pressure, even 1 psi it will continue to rev. It usually goes to zero either a bit below or a bit after the 2-3 shift. Depends on the shift rpm. This with either the Carter 6907 or RobbMc 550 pump. Qjet, stock modified intake.
