XF block code was used in multiple years .
Only a partial indicator for ID purposes.
In 1969 it was a 428 , in 1970 it was a 455
1969 intake would be 9794234 casting number (raised numbers in front of carb area)
1970 intake would be 9799068 casting number (same as above)
Not to be confused with firing order also in raised numbers in same vicinity -18436572
1969 cylinder heads would be casting number 62 (raised numbers between the 2 center spark plugs)
1970 cylinder heads would be casting number 64 (same as above)
1969 carb would be 7029268
1970 carb would be 7040268
455 would have "455" in cast raised numbers on the side of the block towards the front passenger side near the first freeze plug.
Those are foolproof indicators if it is a complete unaltered engine.
