I do all the time, but only when everything else adds up. Your situation seems sketchy though.

I just paid a deposit for a hood I’m picking up at Norwalk on an app, but it’s a member I see all the time on the boards etc.

When I sell stuff I usually say “I’ll take cash app, Venmo, zelle, PayPal” and then let the buyer pick so they don’t feel like Ive got some specific scam going.
