Well a 1966 automatic is a 2-speed Super Turbine 300 or ST-300.
A 1967 GTO automatic transmission would be a 3-speed Turbo Hydramatic 400 or TH400.
So is your transmission a 2 or 3 speed?
Either way there’s no solenoid of any kind involved with the park mechanism. If it’s stuck somehow the pan will need to come off which will drain the fluid to access the mechanism.
Make sure your shift cable is connected and adjusted correctly before getting too far into it.
