Also, strongly suggest buying a GM/Pontiac service manual for your year, it will show things like this as well as most all other aspects of working on these cars the correct way, much better than searching youtube or google, should be able to find them on CD for cheap.

My car had the 1978 Service manual and the 1979 supplement manual in the trunk when I bought it. Surprisingly the courtesy lights are nowhere to be found in either, just the bulb size. I did find where the sockets go by digging for hours in old forum post, websites, etc. I eventually found the way the original wires route. I have a used wiring harness with both sockets and switch ordered.
