True on the starter clearance of pinion to face of flywheel, but the critical clearance is the gear mesh.
You should KNOW what the clearance value is, and the thickness of shims it took to get there. Many sharpie the starter, flywheel, or bellhousing with that value so it's always readily availalbe.
