I used to "hot rod" with a buddy who had a Monte Carlo with 350 and th350. On a Saturday morning we started with a bare block AND bare transmission case, by that evening we were racing it. I believe it was running by about 7 PM. Dang, I can't imagine doing 1/2 that much work now. (And I'll admit, I stcrewed up someting in the trans, it had no reverse that night...but we didn't need it.)
