Semi common for a 4.2 crank in the 4.0. Small stroker.

I went the other route, since the AMC V8's bolt up to the 4.0 and 4.2 I6s, in went a 0.060" over 401. 413 cubes. Teamed with the AX-15 5 speed it was fine for the road. When teamed with the AMC TorqueCommand (AMC bellhousing TF 727) and full floater, spooled, 35 spline Dana 60, it was great. Surprisingly, the reverse rotation Dana 30 in the front was OK, if I was careful where there was full traction.

It did have some Pontiac in it. Adapted a 1968 ram air FBird setup from open hood scoop to carb.
