I fixed a leak like that once from the outside. I put the car up, drained out the oil. Cleaned it all up with CRC Heavy Duty Degreaser ( far better than Brakkleen) Let it dry. Put a big shop vac on each valve cover with duct tape. Turned them on.
Got some Ultra Grey and put it all over the area with a long flat bladed screw driver. Let the Shop Vacs run for a hour or two. let the silicone dry overnight.
Never got another leak from that spot.
