Default Door hinge bolts

I’m reattaching the hinges to the doors on my 66 GTO convertible now that everything has been repainted, including the bolt heads. I grabbed my bag of repainted bolts and noticed something that I missed when disassembling the doors long ago. There are 2 different length hex bolts. Some are 1 1/4 and some are 1 1/2 in length. It’s obvious where the recessed Phillips head bolts go, but what is the reason for the two different length hex bolts.? That would seem to imply that it’s important to put them back where they originated. Which length goes where? I notice our host lists these two length bolts for sale, which seems to be another indication there’s something important about the length. I searched through my restoration log book, but did not find any notes about this.
