I went through this issue with several different cars with q-jet. The fuel bowl would go dry in 3 days every time. Each time removed the carb and checked for leaks out the central bowl, there were none. Replaced the q-jets with Holleys and the fuel bowls would still have fuel a month later and the cars would start right up. I considered adding a booster electric fuel pump as some here have suggested and that would have fixed the problem also.
