Absolutely not! There are plenty of areas to save some pennies but a lift is not it. I sold Rotary lifts for years (up until Dec 2025) and some of the garbage I’ve seen out there from supposed reputable mfrs is scary enough never mind the fact that there is zero support for common wearable items like lift cables and guide blocks means that these types of lifts get thrown away when they need service and the service interval happens real quick with actual use.
A decent lower cost safe option is a set of QuickJacks, I own a pair and they aren’t bad for DIY. The regulating body and minim spec in professional lifting is ALI certified, most DIY products won’t meet those specs but if the manufacturer has other lifts that are ALI certified then you have reasonable chance of purchasing something safe for home use.
