Hi Jeff! Sorry I missed your post, havent been on here for a few days.

I ended up pulling the distributor, setting the engine at 12° and dropping it back in. It would start, but still run like ass. Was acting like it was swinging the timing around wildly on itself, before dying.

Fiddled with it some more. Nothing. Decided to re-check the points gap, and it was tight. Busted out the feeler gauges, and set them at .018. Now the car is acting like there's no spark at all.


I pulled the points and condenser out. The points are really cheap, light weight with plastic in the assembly. Busted out the digital meter and checked the condenser. It was dead. A brand new condenser that had probably 30 minutes of combined run time **** itself.

Dug around and found the points and condenser that was originally in the car, possibly original from 70? Threw them in, hit the key, and it runs like a Swiss watch. Go figure.
