I suspect not.
Keep in mind at PMD (or GM in general) if you want anything - anything at all, including a complete prototype or production engine - you just go to the parts counter with a part number and the item magically appears.
There's really no motivation to engage in any kind of shell game, especially if it results in extra work.
And if there was any concern (even though these guys build engines all day every day) you would just check the new engine on a run in stand or dyno.
