I used the dipstick that was on the transmission from the factory. My trans is a 94 model year out of a GMC 1500 pickup. It's big and sturdy with a nice locking lever for the dipstick itself.
The dipstick comes up the tunnel nicely and sits behind the passenger side valve cover. It's at an angle that can make filling a little more difficult, but it's not as though this is something that has to be done regularly. I just make sure I have a funnel that has an angled cutout.
