The 7041264 was a 400ci carb that came on a lot of different’71 models.
It’s a POE carb that came with 71 jets and 46 rods. The BE secondary rods are very similar to what the factory put in, which were BP.
Being a POE carb, I’d think the 70/39 combo would be quite rich at part throttle. It would not be my pick for primary jetting for a street-driven car.

I was trying to figure out if the 7041264 was bone stock or set up for some type of performance application. I had this carb rebuilt about 40 years ago, but for some reason I never used it. I wrapped it in plastic wrap, boxed it, and stuck it in the attic. I thought it might have been intended to swap out the 2-barrel intake/carb on my Formula, but I ended up swapping out the 350 for a 400 4-barrel engine.
I suspect the carb kit might have been something I got from H-O Specialties. I bought several of their carb kits, and in general I think they were a little on the rich side.
