I posted about my frustration sliding an insulating sleeve along my positive cable and down through the metal tube (
link to thread).
I really didn't want to pull the starter to get the sleeve done and this thread explains why... like whining only for good reason.
When looking at the starter, I noticed I never connected this bracket:
What is it for? The mating threaded screw on the starter looks too small for any real structural help and there is a nut on it, yet the bracket is stout????
I have been starting the engine without it for a couple years so do I care?
Assuming I care, what holds it onto the starter? Is it a flanged nut, nut and washer, or have I misinterpreted the entire thing?
Is there a spacer? If not, why is that threaded screw so long?
Can you share a photo of the "correct" way to attach this bracket?
