Orientation of shield as shown.

I use SS wire, cut it into approx. 1.5-2" pcs. bent in the middle to match the existing hole width at about center leaving the legs long until after installed.

Using a small drill bit to go through the rubber reusing the factory holes.

Then you can slip the wires through and then trim/cut each leg and fold over.

Mine have held well for years.
PITA but very doable.
