Got the car home a few days ago, very happy with it. Careful inspection confirms that paint is 100% original and no surprises. One interesting thing is that the rear valance is a factory plastic unit. Seen reference to them in the shop manual and MPC but never seen one in person. It’s never been hit or scratched but I can see why I’ve never seen one before. It is deformed (not from an impact) and you can see the plastic is brittle. Easy to imagine how on a less pampered situation of winter cold and outdoor storage these plastic ones would have had a short service life.

The nose is indeed deteriorated but luckily i had an excellent spare. Already at the body shop for painting. Only rust spot is a bulge starting in the regular spot on the bottom rear corner of one fender. Might leave it be or might pull the fender and have it patched and paint just below that bottom feature line.
