The cast rods as was said are all basically the same.
The rubber rods were the Forged Rods that were made from inferior steel and not heat-treated and machined like the 421 SD forged Rods. Those were offered for a few years in the early 1960s. Wide Forging line on the side of the rod.
If you have a rod with a casting line on the side, like Mike Davis posted, then it is a cast rod and all the same basically for all engine applications.
Even the Forged Chinese rods, many times, are better than those forged "Rubber" rods.
