Agree, that was the GM plan with the demographics to go with it:
Chevrolet: 16-25 year olds
Pontiac: 25-45 year olds
Oldsmobile: 45-65 year olds
Buick: 65-80 year olds
Cadillac: Too Old to drive, care, or have a chauffeur to drive you around
