I grew up in a small town outside of Green Bay WI. I have very fond memories of being a kid & having multiple smalls stores on every block downtoewn. Gas stations, bakeries, electronics sales & service, appliances, hardware stores, etc. You name it. The owners of these places provided for their families, & some did very well.
Now? Nothing. It's all gone. On the edge of town there is a Large grocery Chain store, a walmart, kwik trips & thats about it. We do still have a Hardware store doing well however. He has adapted & carries stuff nobody else has, & also has a small engine shop.
Its just the way things are today. When a business like Kelsey looks at the exposure & mass sales they would get from Walmart, it's hard to say no. Its great for their business, but crushes everyone else down the ladder. It's been happening for decades & sadly isn't going to stop. When it comes to money, there is no faithfulness to the small guy.
