That casting date is for a third or fourth week of June according to an online calendar I just glanced at.
June 19 = Thursday of the third week of June
June 23 = Monday of the fourth week of June
I know that there are "rules" about what is considered an appropriate window for a given build date;
I have it written that 3-8 weeks prior to the car's build date is average.

Yup, it was a 6D build. All the original dated engine parts were still on it except for the carb and I think the "oldest" part on it was f139, so it had a tight window between foundary and build.
I remember being initially confused when I saw the 70 on the block, but relieved that the vin matched
