Default That is correct for the POSITIVE cable that attaches to the starter solenoid.

The NEGATIVE or ground cable attaches via a stud on the front cylinder head bolt.

Sorry, I don't have a pic of this on a GTO, but I've attached a pic of this on a 1969 Grand Prix from the internet. It's kind of hidden behind the power steering hose in this pic, unfortunately.

For some reason on this GP, the owner installed a 2nd cable from the negative terminal to the same stud on the head bolt (?).

I'm pretty sure that that negative cable was routed thru a different one of those plastic loops on the inner fender, too. I'm thinking that loop was down lower and further forward.
