Looking underneath and across the bottom of the chassis, the lower tubes hang just below the frame rails.

I even put a set on the wife's 79 T/A way back from stock manifolds/pipes to headers without raising the engine. Installed from underneath. Just dropped the starter and oil filter housing and they bolted right up.
