My '68 had them too. If I recall, they were white wall rayon radials, not steel belt. I remember them on my car but I cannot recall the manufacturer.

Here is a portion of my original window sticker showing the tire type.

And, a view of the tires from my first known photo of the car taken in 1969. My records show I replaced the original tires in 1970, so those are probably the originals in the photo.
