At Holley Engineering, they used a RA-IV Pontiac intake (1969 I believe) ported by Booth & Aarons and designed the Holley Street Dominator intake to flow approximately 3 percent better vs that modified RA-IV intake.
Their goal was to just advertise a Holley intake/ carb that actually flowed slightly better than the RA-IV / Rochester carb did.
So it was NOT designed to royally kick butt on the factory part.
Doug Nash did work for Pontiac Engineering and the Nash Intake was developed for Herb Adams 366 engine for Trans Am racing. Again, the Nash intake needed mods to work properly with the larger Pontiac 455 engines. (Mostly in the Plenum Volume.)
