On my 67 GTO with stock Rally I and four piston caliper, I get a 3/16" to 7/32" clearance between the inner wheel surface and the top of the four piston caliper.
My 67 LeMans with JC Rally II and single piston caliper, I have more clearance than that. I need my driveway to dry before I can get a measurement.
I used to have a 67 Tempest with the same JC Rally II wheels and four piston calipers. Clearance was not a problem.
With the four piston calipers, The rotor had to be a two piece version. Single piece rotors made for the single piston calipers would rub against the four piston caliper.
