Good question about the mirror location holes on the door. Given that all three mirrors (manual, remote, sport) were all offered it's highly likely that they all mounted in the same place (I can't imagine they were stamping different door skins). However those early 70's sport mirrors had many different pedestals on them depending on the shape of the door on various models. Therefore F body mirrors don't sit right on a G body for example.
