Hacking the dash cluster
For you guys that do not frequent ls1gto.com a guy has hacked and has a program available to download for free to program your gauge cluster. You can turn on the shift light(that hole at the top of the tach), and set rpms for it. Write a custom text for the shut off(mine now says "skipsGTO 2004"). You can turn off a few other features also. All you need is a laptop and an OBD cable for the laptop.
