Yeah, most of the guys that have FAST cars were Pure Stock Drag competitors that began to 'bend' the rules severely and we put an end to that. It is cool what they do and glad they have a venue for those cars where anything goes under the engine paint. We're having troubles with a few 'legal' cars
that can run quicker than 11.50 (where the NHRA/IHRA require roll bars) and have to back pedal to not get kicked out. There is/was a '74 TA that was built for FAST (455 d-port and log manifolds) that was running high 10's (John Daigle?).
That said, I'm enjoying watching the car brought back to life and reuse, and I agree, it would be neat to build it for the pure stock drags.
