Bias ply tires, by their design, have a pronounced tendency to wander on grooved highways.
That and the fact that the old bias plies will not provide the type of cornering ability that you are used to.
I remember while stationed over in Germany back in the 70's - replacing my bias ply tires with a set of Pirelli radials. Driving on a particularly windy twisty road, where I used to be squealing my tires at 30 MPH I was able to drive 40 MPH with no tire squeal.
When I came home from Germany and bought my first new car (1976 Pontiac Ventura) - I replaced the OE bias ply tires within the first 6 months with a set of 70 series radials.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

I bought my Goodyear 70/F 15 bias bly tires 2 years ago. Terrible tires to drive, but i like how they looks!
