Pontiac changed to the two side motor mounts and rear transmission mount in
1959. The 1959 and 1960 engines still had the motor mount tab on the front of engine timing cover and had the same rear engine block interface as earlier V8s. So a 1959-60 engine can be easily bolted in to earlier Pontiac models (I've done both). I assume it would be the same for GMC engines.
