Thank you Peter for your response and good information. I was wondering what a New Old Stock filler panel would be like, since I guess it would be something like 40 to nearly 50 years old by now. Your experience tells me that it would at best be a gamble, so as you suggest, I will look for a good reproduction.

If anyone has any experience with the reproduction filler panel that is offered by Ames, or by any of the other major part suppliers for our cars, I would greatly appreciate any feedback that you can provide. Or if anyone knows if they are all made by the same manufacturer, that would be good to know as well.
