It turns out that the number 95991 was the paint code. It is a silver/gray named Grigio Argento Metallic made by DuPont. It is Italian for metallic silver/gray and was used in Italy for Fiat and Ferrari cars. The original selling dealership sold both Pontiacs and Fiats.

Since the car had an A for the original paint code...I am guessing that it was originally destined to be black and was for general inventory. Somewhere in production, it got tagged with the special order and the data plate was restamped to show the special paint code. The "&" may have just been an arbitrary symbol to block the A.
