No, it sprays pretty easy. You definitely want to thin it though. Don't put it on too thick when spraying. Several light coats will cover well and it will dry quicker. I only use a thin coat on the exhaust ports and use VHT header paint in a cast finish underneath first. I also put a light coat of Duplicolor engine paint primer on the rest of the engine first before spaying the Bill Hirsch color.
