BTW my 400/4spd/AC 70 Grand Prix had an open 12 bolt. Talk about tire smoke. Have a 3.55 4 pinion in the Judge. Could use an OD but my BW 5 speed is only good for about 300 lb-ft.

My original 4 speed car had a 3:23 4 pinion posi, but the brake cones were completely worn out, it too was pretty good a smoking a single tire..
My plan for this car includes the Tremec TKX, and while my 12 bolt is pretty tight, I am looking at a torsen-type diff for it's ability to deal with widely varied traction environments.
Speaking about 455 SD's, in June 1980 I saw a '73 or '74 Grand Am with GM plates, the NACA scooped hood and 455 SD emblems (stickers) tooling down I-70 between Columbus Ohio, and Dayton, headed Westbound. The car they never released.
