There has been a lot of talk about the rear ends on these two years. I agree that sometimes the tail-lights on the '66 can be hard to see. I think this is mostly caused by the housings not being well grounded. I always run a ground wire to both tail-light housings & that solves the problem. The '67 rear end looks nice & is similar enough to the new for '67 Firebird tail end so that the cars have a familial look. Perhaps the fact that I replaced my '67 tail panel myself (And trust me, it took a lot of work) before the car was even ten years old due to it being rusted out colors my opinion a bit. Like Gary, I also put '67 wire grill inserts into the '66 grills on one of my cars & I think this makes for the best looking setup.
