The car was not advertised as having a matching numbers block so it was a surprise that it has the partial VIN numbers on it. As far as the size of the stamping; I would have no clue as to what the correct size should be. Also, why would someone stamp twice?
HFR commented that it probably is a re-stamp to improve any resale.
A good possibility. Regardless, I now know that it is a 71 455 ( cast 485428) but still have not determined the build date yet.
