DeLOREAN, George Zachary; of Royal Oak; born May 16, 1932 in Detroit to Zachary and Kathryn DeLorean; passed away on May 14, 2022 at the age of 89; father of Stephen Matthew DeLorean and Leslie DeLorean (mother Carole DeLorean, deceased); grandfather of Matthew George DeLorean; brother of Jack DeLorean and his wife Karen DeLorean, the late Charles DeLorean and the late John DeLorean; and his last wife and caregiver, Eileen Erickson. George retired from Dart Machinery, owner of Leader Automotive and Wynn Engineering. George built some of the best custom hotrod engines. George drag raced for Mercury and built custom engines for Royal Bobcat. In his retirement George hosted the Saturday get-together for friends and old car guys at the Woodward Warehouse. He enjoyed building engines, racing cars, hanging out with friends and reading his Bible. Friends may visit Lewis E. Wint & Son Funeral Home, Clarkston on Saturday, May 21st from 2:00pm-5:00pm concluding with a Memorial Service at 5:00pm. Inurnment White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
