Quite honestly, I can't think of many race cars that have the exhaust exiting straight out the back.
I can tell you that the vast majority (95+%)of the race cars in the United States have exhausts exiting out the side.
NASCAR (and they'll do just about anything to gain a 3 HP advantage) exhaust exists (both sides) in front of the left rear tire.
