So I got these chrome seat knob replacements from Ames. Question….am I missing an insert clip or something ? I figured I could push this right on the steel lever on the side of the seat…BUT NOOOOOO….The opening in the new chrome knob is huge and of course won’t stay on. What’s the remedy? I apologize for the delayed response! What year model is your car? The reason I ask is there is a 1st and 2nd design knob. The second design that we sell has a 1/4"x5/16" hole, where as the first design was smaller. Earlier cars had a smaller lever. We also have a diecast option (part # A135B), which uses the set screw style. We list both of these in the catalog and have a more in depth description on our website. Thanks!
