I think "K" is November, I'd have to double check with my notes tomorrow.
I believe "L" is December.

There was a '148 distributor listed here in the past year or so;
I have one, but believe it's dated January 30th.
I also have a carb, but it needs a heli-coil (and I don't have the date handy).

What's the build date on your car?

The engines don't get dressed till they are prepped for the assembly line, so having components dated different than the block is not unusual.
I could be wrong, but believe they were run/broken in with a distributor, but no carb.
I believe blocks were cast in batches much like heads, and sometimes the way things happened, older dated blocks could sometimes be assembled later than newer blocks;
The EUN was more or less the best way of determining when the block was assembled.
