I've been away from here awhile, and HTML doesn't seem to work, and I can't get these pics to upload
Anyway, I recently dyno tested three different aircleaner bottom plates. I used the same filter element and top housing on all three tests. Same car, same gas, same dyno, all tested within a reasonable time of each other.

IMHO, you'd be better off with a flat base and no spacer.
