i pondered it too long , missed the boat.
well, , the boat came back into the harbor this afternoon.

All stores within 50 miles showed 0 inventory.
Can't get one shipped from Lowes either.
Found a good deal on eBay for one - but the 5 year saw / 3 year battery warranty is out the window if you don't buy the saw from Lowes and have a valid receipt from Lowes at the time of trouble.

Did a google and it came up for $233.09 at Lowes ?
But when clicked the link it took me to my local store with 0 on hand and $399 price.

So i went to the local store today to check on something else.
They had 4 of the damn things (5Ah models) for the $279 Clearance Price.
And 2 of the 2Ah for $269

Went to check out , and it rang up for $233.09 ? plus tax was $249.41
{ i was Mr. Super Smiley Face }

On the receipt it says
*MINIMUM RETAIL PRICE APPLIED TO THIS ITEM*
Never seen that before on a Lowes receipt.

The bad part is i might not keep it.
I went ahead and got it while i could - until i can make up my mind.

Its a lot heavier than i thought it would be - i think its heavier than my 18" Poulan Gas saw. I was expecting ultra-light electric.
I don't use a chainsaw a whole lot - but i'm sick of screwing with the Poulan the last few times i used it. Its 20 years old anyway.

They also have 16" 60volt 2Ah GreenWorks saw on Clearance for $149 (regular $250)
Its quite a bit lighter than the Kobalt 18"
4 year saw/4 year battery warranty
But all they had was the display left at my store.
2 stores in next town over show to have some in stock.
I might get one of them instead.

The tree work i'm looking at soon is going to mostly be climbing up the trees and dropping them little by little.
Battery power is my best bet when i get up there
