Default Stefs 1240 Pan in First Gen Firebird

I’m planning on modifying my front stub to fit a Pontiac V8 In its stock location fore and aft. I am going to cut both of the stock crossmembers out and install 4130 Plate and 1-5/8” tube just inside of the factory control arm attachment points. I am installing a mustang rack so I have to install the mounts for it in one of the horizontal tubes that I will install. Of course, before cutting the subframe I’ll be adding some substantial bracing to keep it square as it was (not very). Yes I know camber is off, playing around with upper ball joints and haven’t used any shims. I’ll probably cut my own one-piece shims on my CNC machine.

Anyone modified their crossmembers and have photos of how much you took out?

I need clearance for a Stefs 1240 pan. Just wanted to get some dialogue going before I start fabrication. I’m using All Pontiac 3/16” steel front and mid plates and a Innovative Racecraft Chromoly TH400 Trans Crossmember with a Poly mount on the trans.

Also anyone have a trashed 1240 Stefs I could use for mock up?
