I may be nostalgic to a fault (hey, at least I admit it!);
But quality in electronics really isn’t what it used to be.
CRT’s were nothing fancy, but they could always be fixed;
this new stuff is built so that after time the boards fry from heat ect, and they are just not fixable - at least not for less than the cost of a new tv!?
I was the last person in my family to have a CRT tv (I still have it
);
But years ago we used airmiles (a Canadian thing) and got a smart tv;
That one crapped out in a shockingly quick time, so I got a replacement, and set the “old” one back in the replacement’s box;
That tv (knocks on wood) is still chugging along after almost ten years now…
When it does conk out, I’ll plug in the CRT so my kids can play Duck Hunt
