Fred, I told you last time we talked to go to Norwalk, you'll only see Pontiacs racing (except for the Nostalgia super stocks) for 3 days solid, usually over 500 drag cars, and over 500 show cars, for 3 straight days. If you go, you'll want to return every year you draw a breath on this rock. You can go for one day, but you'll miss a lot of stuff if you're only there for one day.

If you camp at the track it's not terribly expensive for the weekend, gas/food would cost you more than staying at the track. I think it was $50 for a 3 day pass, $30 for 2 day pass. I've slept in my car in the parking lot one year when I wasn't working, and I attended, and brought a cooler with food, and drinks to save money. They have showers on site that you can buy a shower pretty cheap, With a little forethought it can be done pretty cheaply. You need to put a few bucks away every week, and you can go next year.....

Mapquest says, 494 miles, 7 hours 34 minutes, one way....
