thrust bearing question
I have received a set of crank thrust bearings,Clevite, and both halves have an oil hole in them, is this right? or have they sent 2 tops?
if so, can they still be used or not? thanks Rick. |

Are these full grooved main bearings? If so, that would be right. Instead of them making two different full grooved thrust bearings they just use the same one for both. I have a set of Clevite MS-483G main bearings in my hand that are half groove and they have a solid thrust lower half.

It seems to be needed only with bearings that don't have the scallops running all the way down thru the sides to relieve pressure. |
